Daniel Schlereth

Left-hander Schlereth was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks as the 26th overall pick in the 2009 draft. He spent a year in Arizona before being dealt to Detroit. He later suited up for the Orioles and Pirates before returning to Tigers. As a reliever, he is predominantly known as a curveball and fastball pitcher, the latter of which he throws in the low 90s.

Schlereth was born in Alaska but grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He was a standout baseball and football player for Highlands Ranch High School, setting three school records his senior year: the most strikeouts in a single game (19), as well as the single-season rushing record by a quarterback and the longest touchdown run from scrimmage
