Golf Athletes: Gain mental focus and energy on the back 9 holes

Even when you’re playing for “fun,” there’s still an intrinsic competitiveness in the sport of Golf. If not with fellow golfers, then with yourself to lower your score or improve an aspect of your game. So we checked in with Golf Fitness Trainer Kristy Breuler to make sure as you round the corner to the back nine, you’re ready to perform at the peak of your ability with sustained endurance and energy.

From two- to three-day back-to-back tournaments to member-guest events and club championships, the events Kristy trains her clients for are unique. But one thing she suggests for everyone on the course: “Keep the mind and body going with preparation and supplementation.”

Recommended drills and practice points will vary by golfer’s experience and ability, but maximizing energy level and effort toward the second half of every golfers’ round can start with P4.

“Start by eating a balanced breakfast with protein, then mixing your P4 PREGAME sports supplement before your warm-up. Play the front nine, and follow up with a quick power-snack (nuts, beef jerky, etc.). Wash it down with P4 Energy formula as you power through the back nine for score-card success,” says Breuler.

Here’s more good news, you don’t have to stock your golf bag like you’re climbing Kilimanjaro. “Bringing all your [power snacks and P4] is easy to achieve with P4 BlenderBottle® ProStakTM. Just prep, stack and pack it in your golf bag.”

If your golf outing spans the weekend or you’re engaged in tournament play, maintain the same routine for day two, but consider incorporating a natural rejuvenation tool into your nighttime routine. “Defusing essential oils close to bedtime or misting them on your pillow is a wonderful rejuvenating tool that can offer a wide range of emotional and physical wellness,” says Breuler. “This can help prepare you for day two of golf.”
