What Are BCAAs, Anyway?

If you take sports supplements regularly you’ve most likely noticed the letters BCAA on at least one of the product labels. And you may have asked yourself, “What in the heck does “BCAA” stand for? Could it be the Base Crunch Absorption of Aminos? Wow, what a terrible guess. Absolutely not. It stands for branched-chain amino acids.

Three amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine are critical aminos for creating and maintaining muscle tissue. Leucine in particular has been shown to stimulate protein synthesis (aka muscle growth) as well as provide energy and assist in the prevention in allowing the muscle-blocking hormone cortisol from hindering your gains.

P4’s Recovery Push Formula features a carb loader and BCAAs. Simply add one scoop to 8-10 ounces of water and consume during or after your game. While the BCAAs and vitamin matrix (which includes vitamins C, B1, B2, B12, A, E, and D3, among others) combine to help assist you with a massive (caffeine-free) energy push energy to finish your game or workout strong, Recovery Push’s ingredients also prep your body for recovery.

What’s more, the fact that P4’s workout supplements Recovery Push Formula, Energy Formula, and Pre Game Formula are all NSF Certified for Sport means that every ingredient went through a rigorous testing process to ensure that there are no banned substances.
